REVIEW
I had the opportunity to try out these Spintao’s Gluten Free (GF) Broccoli crust pizzas! I had never tried the Spinato’s brand let alone broccoli crust before so I was excited to give them a try! I’m a bit delayed with my review. I meant to get this done a month ago but life got busy and in the way. Hope it’s better late than never!
My mom (who is also GF) and I got to try these 4 types of Spinato’s pizza (Primavera, Supreme, Margherita, and 3 Cheese (Asiago, Romano & Mozzarella). My mom’s favorite was the Primavera, I think mine was the Margherita but they were all tasty! Can’t go wrong with any of these!
The pizzas shipped on dry ice. They should be fine for an hour or two but will need to be put in the freezer as soon as possible. I don’t know if you can choose the timing of shipping but this is something to be aware of if you work a typical day job and can’t be at home all hours for the shipping. It arrived around lunch time but fortunately my mom was able to grab the pizzas and put them in the freezer. Otherwise, you can purchase the pizzas at a store near you, likely in the freezer section.
One note that we got about baking the pizzas is for best cooking results, it was recommend to cook until the cheese begins to brown. This ensures the crust is cooked throughout and is nice and crispy.
My mom and I have to agree. The first round we didn’t bake long enough so we had to bake a little longer. It almost looked like the crust was burnt but that’s where we found the best way to ensure that the crust was crispy but I’m also ok with a toasty crust. lol You might have to adjust the timing for your perfect crust type.
Overall, my mom and I enjoyed this pizza! We had no reactions! It was better than some of the cauliflower pizzas we’ve tried. I was surprised that the crust wasn’t really green from the broccoli but I appreciate that it looks like a normal pizza! I only wish that it was a little larger, most of the GF pizzas are about this size (10 inches). I’m a huge pizza eater and love having left overs to eat later. lol For the value, I think there may be better options, but this is a great alternative crust to try.
Check out photos i took of my experience with the pizzas. Scroll to the bottom for more information about the company.
