Chibi E.A. Huey

Hi! I'm E.A. Huey!

Welcome to my little corner of the internet! I’m a solo creative Artist, Author, and Blogger from the Midwest who is multi-passionate about design, stories, and technology. I can usually be found either sketching, illustrating, watercoloring, writing, reading, or front-end web designing and development. If I’m not doing any of those, then I can be found thinking about it as I binge watch TV shows or scrolling through social media.

More fun tidbits: Lover of all dogs. Gluten free sweet loving Celiac. Has an obession with books of all kinds, colorful inks, and pens. In constant turmoil between wanting to stay at home and to travel the world. A daughter of Christ.

Thank you for your interest!

FAQ

I've always been a creative person. I enjoyed reading stories since I was young which translated into writing and telling my own stories. Then I found comics and decided I wanted to learn to make those but severly underesitmated how long it'd take to tell a story. Neither are easy to do on their own but I found a nice balance where I like to still write my stories but I supplement it with illustrations or vignettes. I'm just a slow illustrator but I'm working on improving and do like to do sketches. I still admire both crafts with a passion.
I wish I could say yes but I would be lying. lol I try to make time to write or sketch daily, even if it's a little doodle or an idea. I still don't get to do that everyday but I do try to think about it daily at least.
Illustrations: (Check out my blog for more information)
  • Mechanical Pencil - Any kind. I bounce from a cheap BIC to my Pentel Graphgear 1000.
  • Sketchbook - I'm trying different kinds. Plus it takes me forever to get through one. Currently I'm in a hardback Art Alternatives sketchbook which I like so far. I guess I'm not too picky because I seem to make them work for me.
  • Fountain Pens and Ink - I've been playing around with my various fountain pens and inks. I love my Pilot Metropolitans and Lamy Safaris. I've been using Noodler's Ink for my fountain pen inks. Although I've stopped using them for my current sketchbook as it has more "tooth" on the paper and I don't want to wear down the nibs quicker.
  • Pens - I found like cheap pens to sketch around with when I'm not worried about making it into a finalized art piece.
  • Watercolors - I've been playing around with traditional watercolors for fun. I've been loving it so far but found I can be impatient to let it dry before continuing. I've been getting better. I'm not familiar enough with brushes but as long as the hairs aren't falling out and there's enough snap and holds a point, I'm fine with it.
  • Digital art - I try to do some digital illustrations on the computer. The lines are so much cleaner plus I love the "undo" and "copy and paste" buttons.
Writing: (Check out my blog for more information)
  • Mechanical Pencil - Any kind. I bounce from a cheap BIC to my Pentel Graphgear 1000.
  • Notebook - I'm trying to find a favorite but I found I don't really have too much of a preference, I think a larger notebook makes it easier to revise when writing by hand. So about Composition Notebook size or bigger when drafting. About A5 or 5x8 inches if I'm just listing ideas or brainstorming.
  • Fountain Pens and Ink - I've been playing around with my various fountain pens and inks. I love my Pilot Metropolitans and Lamy Safaris. I've been using Noodler's Ink for my fountain pen inks.
  • Pens - I found don't mind using cheap pens if they are lying around because I have so many but I'm trying to use up what I have so I don't add more to the environment after disposal. Instead trying to use more fountain pens as I believe they are more eco-friendly.
  • Google Docs and Sheets - Love using these as I can access it from anywhere so I use it for outlines and tracking word counts.
  • Library - I love that I can learn and borrow books from the local Library and they don't take up too much space as I have limited space where I live.
